Q: Are Suncast® products waterproof?
A: Suncast® products are designed to withstand the elements and feature materials that are water resistant and contain UV protection, but they are not waterproof.
Q: An animal is chewing on my Suncast® product? Why is this happening?
A: Lets face it, wild animals and insects seek out shelter, food and water wherever they can find them. And once an animal has determined they want access to what is inside, they are often difficult to stop. While Suncast® products are designed and manufactured to withstand the elements-they are not animal proof. The material used in Suncast products does not contain any properties known to attract pests nor do they contain any pest repellent. If you intend to store anything in your shed or deck box that animals or insects could eat, we suggest keeping the food source in a strong, airtight container to minimize the chance that animals will be aware of its presence. If you are currently facing a pest problem, removing the attractant is usually the best way to go. For further assistance, we suggest checking with your local hardware store for recommendations or calling an exterminator.
Q: Does Suncast® manufacture protective covers for deck boxes?
A: Suncast does not manufacture any covers for our products. Our products are built to hold up to all kinds of weather conditions, and are a breeze to clean up, so a protective cover is not necessary If you are still interested in having a cover for your deck box, we suggest looking into universal outdoor furniture covers. These products are readily available at a variety of online and retail stores.
Q: How do I clean my Suncast®product? Can I use a pressure washer?
A: Suncast® products are a breeze to clean up!

Tools needed:

all-purpose cleaner (such as 409, Simple Green, or good old fashioned dish soap),

a soft bristle brush or sponge

a garden hose

Instructions:

Hose down product, apply cleaner (or soap) and give it a light scrub! Rinse off, and towel or air-dry to complete.

Pressure washers can be used, but please make sure it is on the lowest setting.

Q: Can Suncast®products be painted?
A: Suncast® does not recommend painting any of our products. Suncast products are built to withstand the elements, however, painting the product will compromise the effectiveness of the UV protection in the materials and may void your Suncast® Limited-Warranty.
Q: I have a Suncast® Storage Cabinet. Can I use this product outside?
A: Suncast® storage cabinets (all models starting with BMC or BMCCPD) are designed for indoor use only. If you are looking for a similar option that is designed for outdoor use, please take a look at the vertical storage sheds we offer: Suncast® Vertical Storage Sheds.
