Have some questions about your Suncast Powerwind Hose Reel? You have come to the right place! Don't forget to check out the videos below for some helpful tutorials.
What type of battery is used in the Powerwind?
The Powerwind uses a 12-volt sealed lead acid (SLA) 4.5-amp battery. A replacement may be purchased by calling 1-800-846-2345.
How long does it take the battery to charge?
The charger will not overcharge the battery.
How long will the battery last before it needs recharging?
In typical cases, the battery can go about 15 cycles between charges, but it will vary based on the length of hose, type of hose, surface the hose is on, and temperature. Do not allow the battery to completely discharge before recharging, as this will affect the life of the battery.
If the unit will not be used for more than 30 days, remove and store the battery in a safe location.
I just purchased my Powerwind and it is not working. What do I do?
- Our Powerwind units function by the triggering of two switches. There is one located on the underside of the lid, as well as in a compartment by the foot pedal. First, make sure that the lid is closed. If the lid is not closed, one of the two switches will not be triggered.
- The white battery cap that the charger attaches to isn't only for charging. The unit will only work if the battery cap remains assembled on top of the battery, and then placed into the battery compartment. The unit will not work if the battery is in the battery compartment without the battery cap.
