Aquawinder/No Crank/Reel Smart Troubleshooting
Is the Valve Lever moved completely to the Rewind position?
Move the lever on the side of the hose reel back and forth. Push it completely in the Rewind position.
Remember when it has completed rewinding to shut the water off. Then move the lever to the Rest position.
If the Valve Lever is broken, it can be replaced.
Is the water on?
The rewind mechanism relies on water power.
The spigot must be fully opened, even if that was not needed for watering.
Shut the water completely off after the hose is rewound.
Is the Drain Hose free from kinks or obstructions?
Place the drain hose so it can drain freely. The hose reel cannot rewind if water does not flow out of the drain hose.
Is the hose standard two ply vinyl garden hose?
Heavy duty hose, thick walled hose, or rubber hose will be slow to rewind due to the weight of the hose.
Bring the hose closer to the hose reel, so it does not need to pull the heavier weight from such a distance.
Is the hose in a straight line?
Do not have it pull around corners or through shrubbery.
Position the hose so it is in front of the hose reel. Avoid corners, shrubbery or other surfaces that will prevent the hose from moving smoothly.
Is the garden hose open?
Water should flow freely out of the garden hose.
There should not be an attachment such as a spray gun or sprinkler.
Remove the attachment. It might be adding weight to catching as the hose winds.
This completes common causes of slow Suncast No Crank Hose Reel rewind. If the hose continues to rewind slowly, there may be broken parts within the hose reel. Broken gears or other internal parts that may cause the unit to rewind the hose slowly cannot be replaced. However, broken gears are not common.
